The Mariners’ tentative 2014 schedule has been released. The Mariners open the season in Anaheim on March 31. (Yay, No Oakland!) and then travel to Oakland after that (boooo!).
The last time the Mariners opened up the season at home was in 2008 when they faced the Texas Rangers with Erik Bedard making the opening day start. That decision was the first of many not smart ones by manager John McLaren.
From 1995 to 2008, the Mariners started the season at home every but one – 2003.
The home opener is on April 8 against the Angels.
The Mariners will have interleague series with the National League East, meaning the Nationals, Braves and Mets will all come to Safeco. They will travel to Atlanta, Philadelphia and Miami
