The Rainiers continue to struggle, getting shutout 8-0 by the Omaha Storm Chasers. Stephen Pryor gave up five runs on five hits with a walk and  a wild pitch and never recorded an out in his outing. Pryor is rehabbing a strained lat muscle that’s kept him out basically the entire season. Pryor hadn’t thrown in six days with the Rainiers because of what general manager Jack Zduriencik termed “general soreness.”

Mike Curto discussed the game and the problems with the Rainiers on his daily blog .

Ji-Man Choi blasted a grand slam(video above)  in Jackson’s 7-3 win over Huntsville.

Class A High Desert gave up a grand slam in a 6-4 loss.

Class A Clinton got a less than stellar start from Tyler Pike in a 5-2 loss to Beloit.

Class A Everett picked up a 7-4 win over Boise

Rookie League Pulaski picked up a 5-4 walk-off win with Isaiah Yates getting the big knock.

“General soreness”….haven’t heard that phrase mentioned in baseball since Mike Marshall (RF for the Dodgers in the 80s) went on the DL for the same malady.
