One thing I was asked on Twitter is why would Dustin Ackley be playing center field tonight with Michael Saunders in right. Well, Ackley hasn’t and isn’t going to play right field. His arm strength puts him at disadvantage in right field. It’s also tough position for the inexperienced because of how the ball flies out to right field.
On Saturday, Wedge started Saunders in left field and Ackley in center field, which seemed a little odd. Wedge said today that we will see Ackley in left field in the near future. But remember, Raul Ibanez can only play left or DH. And you really aren’t going to sit Raul any time soon.
Other than that, it’s a pretty normal day.
