James Paxton had the best start of his professional career, tossing a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and striking out four and walking two in the Rainiers’ 7-0 win. Paxton threw 101 pitches with 64 strikes. That consistency and efficiency hasn’t been evident all season. There has been a start here and a tough outing there. But this outing is indicative of the stuff and potential he has. Perhaps, he’s starting to figure it out.  It seemed as though he’s been passed by Taijuan Walker, Brandon Maurer and Danny Hultzen in the depth chart.

Double A Jackson won it’s fourth straight game with a 3-2 victory over the Peninsula Blue Wahoos.

Jabari Blash and Patrick Brady led Class A High Desert to a 7-4 win.

Class A Clinton’s bullpen fell apart in a 5-3 loss

Class A Everett picked up a 3-2 win over Salem-Keizer. Jack Reinheimer and DJ Peterson each had RBI singles.
