7-7 -- Mariners lineup

Sorry this is a little late. The internet at the Great American Ball Park is anything but great.

Nick Franklin is back in the line-up today. Manager Eric Wedge said he went out and ran around pregame to test the knee. It will be interesting to see how he moves laterally at second base. Raul Ibanez is back in there after getting a day off. A few people were miffed that Ibanez didn’t play yesterday, which is odd since more than a few people were miffed in April and May when he was playing. Ahh the internet world we live in. Anyway, Ibanez, at age 41, was given a day off.

His last day off was on May 29. Since then, he’s started every game. That’s 33 games in totals. And he put up these numbers.

It’s important to remember that a day off can be beneficial for a player of any age. But with guys like Ibanez, Endy Chavez, Jason Bay and Kendrys Morales, they are necessary.
