The Mariners have signed second-round pick Austin Wilson out of Stanford. Wilson took BP in Safeco today and clobbered a few homers out to left. He said he was trying for the second deck, but couldn’t get that done today.

Wilson, an impressive athlete at 6-5, 245, is slated to make his pro debut Monday for Everett.

Mariners manager Eric Wedge made it to bed at 5:30 a.m. after the late flight back last night following the gut-punch loss in Anaheim. Wedge said it was a “fluke” outing for Felix Hernandez and that the club has no choice but to put that behind them.
