Blake Beavan picked up his first win since being sent down to Triple A Tacoma, pitching six innings and giving up two runs on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Both Mike Zunino and Nick Franklin had days off yesterday. No, I don’t know when they are being called up.

Double A Jackson lost its third straight as bullpen issues cost the Generals again in a 3-2 loss in 10 innings. Top pitching prospect  Taijuan Walker had another solid start, throwing seven innings, giving up four hits and one earned run, while striking out six and walking one.

In his last 47 1/3 innings, Walker has posted a 2.09 ERA and limited opponents to a .174 (29-for-167) average, while walking 23 and striking out 52.

Class A High Desert was off

Class A Clinton split a doubleheader with Beloit.

Do you know when Walker will be called up?

    I’m kidding, don’t answer.

I’d expect to see Walker in AAA by July if he keeps this up.
