4-14 -- linebup vs. Rangers

Endy Chavez gets another start in center. Mariners manager Eric Wedge is holding out Franklin Gutierrez for another day with tightness in his hamstrings. Look we all know Gutierrez is fragile, but this is risk-reward. Sure he could probably play today, but if he were to blow out one of his hamstrings he’s out for a month at least.

Dustin Ackley made the decision to change back to something similar to his old swing on Thursday – when he was given a day off. I’m told he put in substantial time in the cage.

Ackley said he felt the timing was off with the swing. If you look at it closely, he still gets to the same hitting position. There just isn’t a bunch of movement before that.

Doesn’t really seem like the best time of year to be changing your swing, no?

Good thing they are saving Franklins health now. Wouldn’t want him out when we make our playoff run! Oh wait…you have to win to be in a playoff race.

  3. changing it back might be a good thing because the new way wasn’t working.
