4-7 -- Mariners line-up

The Mariners wrap up the three-game series today with the White Sox. Can they get a series win? It would be impressive feat considering how poorly they’ve played here and against Chicago the last few seasons.

I’m happy to report that it’s sunny and crisp. There is no odd weather  - no near freezing temps, no 30 mph winds. There was a huge rainstorm last night, but the field looks dry and ready.

Dustin Ackley and Michael Saunders get the days off with tough lefty and strikeout machine Chris Sale on the mound. Mariners manager Eric Wedge said he planned to play everybody the first few weeks out of spring training to keep them fresh as the season got going. He continues to do that. I would expect a little more line-up continuity in the next week or so. But he’s also using platoons when he can, so I don’t think you are going to see the same line-up for three days in a row.

In the video, Marines manager Eric Wedge discusses on how he decides to bunt and with whom as well as pinch hitting and bringing players in.

Game notes and up to date stat pack are below …

  1. Tough one for the Mariners today with Sale going for the Sox. They’ll have to steal this one or hope he’s off his game. Iwakuma needs another good start.

  2. yeah, Sale is really, really tough. Runs will be difficult for the Mariners
