We’re under way here in a Peoria and Hector Noesi may have already pitched his chance at the rotation away.

He threw 42 pitches, allowed a grand slam, six runs, four earned runs, four hits and walked three. He recorded two outs before Eric Wedge pulled him in the top of the first.

Only 22 of Noesi’s pitches were strikes.

The reason two of his runs were unearned was because Raul Ibanez had the first fly ball of the year click off his glove in deep left for an error. In Ibanez’s defense, San Diego’s left fielder, Travis Buck, just stumbled and fell when making his first catch out in left. It’s a tough sky.

Casper Wells hit a two-run homer to left in the ninth. Really the only offensive flash for the Mariners who are back at it at 12:05 p.m. Saturday against the Padres again.

  1. Million dollar arm, 5 cent brain.

  2. Looks like Hector No estrikeee is in mid season form.

  3. I don’t think anyone is supprised at Noesi’s performance as he seems to be where he was at the end of last season.

I wouldn’t give you a nickel for this guy. I wonder why he just doesn’t get it? I suppose it’s gonna take getting released then finding out no one in MLB wants a guy who won’t put any effort into getting better is going to sign him. The harsh reality of getting a real job that pays real wages not fantasy money might be the only way he comes around. Then again maybe he’s just to (fill in the blank).

It’s curious ,that Noesi should get’s the call to start spring trainig we all no the staff is enamoured with him, and maybe he does have a good arm, but the mental part is just not their someone needs to sit him down, and help him understand that he needs to go foward , and to put last season behind him,the only good thing about this is he’s still a young ball player, and can still come out his funk with some work, and determination but at this point and time he’s not ready for prime time.
