Ryan, any sense on whether they're going to still add a veteran starter? Millwood or Saunders? I heard that they were in the running for Saunders.

Do you mean they would have to trade Guti if they wanted to sign Bourn? I think they can keep both in 2013 personally. They definitely can financially anyways. Franklin's 7.25 mil comes off the books after 2013. And they could still consider resigning him after 2013 if he is healthy, has a good year, and depending on what happens with Michael Saunders, Morales, and Morse. I mean that Morales and Morse aren't signed past 2013 and Saunders has only been good one year. It would mean keeping 5 OFs most likely, although Ibanez can play 1st as well. They could play Saunders, Guti, and Bourn when Morse is at DH and platoon Guti and Saunders when Morse is out in LF. This is dependent on them not having to give him more than 5 years or 14-15 mil a year. He fills a need even if Guti is healthy. A guaranteed 40+ steals, good OBP, and GG defense. Ackley looks better hitting #2 than lead-off to me.
