Right-handed pitcher D.J. Mitchell, who was recently designated for assignment by the Mariners to make room on the 40-man roster for Raul Ibanez, has cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Tacoma Rainiers.

Mitchell was acquired in last year’s trade that sent Ichiro Suzuki to the New York Yankees.

He was 3-2 with a 2.96 ERA in eight starts with Tacoma last season.
