When Ibanez is on a streak his hitting skills are crazy. I think it was 1996 when Ibanez was on a crazy hitting streak with the Rainiers. I was sitting behind the dugout during a game when Raul was a triple shy of the cycle. The Rainiers had a comfortable lead and on his fourth AB aimed a line drive down the 3rd base line…but it was a mistake, he hit it out. There was a lot of razzing in the dugout about Raul not getting his triple. Fortunately he got a 5th AB, and yes he got his triple.

What is the real cause of the recent purging in the Mariners scouting department? Engle, Guerrero, and Grifol are now all gone. Was this Z’s call or did the former Mariner employees dare to stand up against the Armstrong/Lincoln Regime of Apathy?
