The bullpen is gassed, the offense remains anemic and the Seattle Mariners have lost five of their last six games – so they will turn to Felix Hernandez tonight and ask him to make it right.

The opposition? A Baltimore team challenging for the American League East title that’s not only beat the Mariners two games in a row at Safeco Field but limited them to six runs in 27 innings.

When Lucas Luetgue worked the 18th inning Tuesday, he was the last Mariners reliever available, and manager Eric Wedge said tonight that if the game had gone to the 19th, starting pitcher Blake Beavan would have pitched.

Against LHP Joe Saunders, here’s the Mariners lineup:

Dustin Ackley 2B
Franklin Gutierrez CF
Kyle Seager  3B
Jesus Montero  C
Justin Smoak  1B
Michael Saunders  LF
Miguel Olivo  DH
Casper Wells  RF
Brendan Ryan  SS
Felix Hernandez  RHP
