Day 2 of the MLB amateur draft begins today. And the Seattle Mariners had the fourth pick of the second round (64th overall) and took Joe DeCarlo, a high school shortstop out of Garney Valley High School in Glens Mills, Pennsylvania.
DeCarlo is 6-1 and 205 pounds and was recruited as a third baseman to the University of Georgia, where he was signed to go.
He was rated by Baseball America as the 57th best high school prospect in the country.

Ryan, any opinion on this one?

Interesting pick…Baseball America had him rated #287 and we picked him at #64. Could have been chosen for signability (first year of having a stated budget by MLB to sign picks or pay a severe tax).
