One of those long days in Seattle Mariners spring camp, with the team playing two road games – a morning ‘B’ game against Colorado, and an afternoon game with the Chicago Cubs.
Manager Eric Wedge may finally have begun running dry on available players on the still-65 men in camp, as he’s starting two players from minor league camp – infielders Brad Mills and Stefen Romero – in the ‘B’ game.
Still, multiple games are played more for pitchers, and two Mariners rotation candidates get starts today – Hector Noesi vs. the Rockies, Kevin Millwood against the Cubs. Noesi needs innings and the team doesn’t particularly care who he faces. Millwood needs a good outing, against big-league hitters.
