Photo Day in spring training means players, coaches and manager Eric Wedge sit, stand or kneel to pose at the stations for about a half dozen media outlets, baseball cards and team shots – a process that takes no more than 15 minutes apiece.

Dustin Ackley

Online, it’s a bit more relaxed. Want to know what’s going on in spring training? Lots of fundamentals, from pitchers covering first base to middle infielders turning two, as second baseman Dustin Ackley is doing here with a flip to the bag.

Franklin Gutierrez

There are bullpen sessions and base-running drills that have players like Franklin Gutierrez  (left)going from first to third, then from second to home or from the plate to second base. The healthier Gutierrez has no problems with such sprints this spring.

Dan HultzenPitchers taking ground balls by the dozens can mean more outs during the season, so whether  you’re a rookie like Dan Hultzen (right) or a veteran like Kevin Millwood, you take them, field them and throw to one base or another, depending upon the drill.

There are familiar faces and new ones, like that of catcher/designated hitter Jesus Montero (below). And there will be more soon.
