Mike Carp has been recalled from Triple A Tacoma and Mike Wilson was optioned back to the Rainiers.
After hearing the move was being made during the postgame media session, Carp was lifted from tonight’s game in Tucson for pinch hitter Ryan Langerhans, which kind of was the final hint. The Mariners announced the move a few minutes later.
Carp leaves Tacoma having his, 22 game hitting streak snapped, with just one at-bat. During that streak, he was batting .433 (42×97) with 27 runs scored, 4 doubles, 11 home runs and 35 RBI. He has also hit safely in 37 of his last 39 games with an at-bat, batting .409 (67×164) with 46 runs, 11 doubles, 17 home runs and 54 RBI. Since April 23 Carp has raised his season average from .172 to .350.
I hope to heck Carp plays everyday & doesn’t just sit.

Should’ve DFA’d Cust and Figgins and brought up Ackley as well. They are both just a waste of space and breathing valuable air.
