Dustin Ackley

Dustin Ackley continues to hit for the Tacoma Rainiers. On a ridiculously windy night at Cashman Field in which the Rainiers lost 14-8 and gave up 20 hits, he got three more hits to raise his batting average to .290. Talking with Mike Curto, he said two of the hits – the singles were hard hit line drives while the double was a bit of a cheapie. Either way, he’s still hitting the ball. And he’s putting up great at-bats.

Shortstop Nick Franklin, one of the top prospects in the Mariners organization, got off to a slow start this year with Class A High Desert. On May 10, his average had dropped to .226. But he’s turned on, notching seven multi-hit games since then, including three hits last night in High Desert’s 7-4 win. Over his last seven games, he’s batting .469 (15×32) with 9 runs scored, 1 double, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 4 RBI.

Double A Jackson lost 3-2 in a seven inning game. Scott Savastano had four hits, while Johermyn Chavez homered.

Class A Clinton picked up a rare win, beating Beloit 6-4.

  1. 1st paragraph: “Either way he’s”

He’s what? You didn’t finish the sentence.

  2. Sorry, Grant, got distracted, but I got it fixed.
