It was a rough night for the Tacoma Rainiers as they lost 13-1 to the Colorado Sky Sox. How bad was it? It has Mike Curto writing poetry. That’s bad. But the good news is that Matt Mangini is back for the Rainiers. While he’s not a major prospect, his bat will help the Rainiers win some games. Mangini was a third baseman mainly last season, but with Alex Liddi over at third, Mangini will play mostly first base.

Down in Lake Elsinore, California, Denny Almonte continues his torrid hitting for the High Desert Mavs, hitting his fifth homer in six games. In his last nine games, Almonte is batting .375 (15×40) with 10 runs scored, 1 double, 3 triples, 5 home runs and 13 RBI.

Double A Jackson held on for a win.

Class A Clinton got a win as Julio Morban tripled and has now hit safely in 12 of 15 games this season, batting .351 (20×57) with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles, 2 triples and 6 RBI.
