He's the best pick of the finalists who were listed. Former catcher who is more likely to make the right decision at that position. Won in Cleveland before front office stripped him of Sabathia, Lee, Martinez, Blake, Peralta, etc., then fired him when the kids and retreads they handed him didn't reach the pennant. So, he's been there before. Stage is set.

51 polls and NO comments?

How do ESPN's boys do it...

C'mon MAN!!

:-)

All right, I'm diving in. I think Wedge is an outstanding hire. Of all the candidates HE was the guy I was rooting for. He's young and has had some managerial success in the AL. He's got long term written all over him and how awesome would that be?

I think Jack nailed this one but now ownership needs to open those tight wallets and shell out a little dough ray me for some key free agents...yes??

A trip to the ballpark is hardly affordable these days...the least they could do is put out a winning product. Jack Z KNOWS what he's doing. The Cliff Lee trade was a no lose situation. He played that deck of cards perfectly. Had the M's been winning instead of the shenanigans that were taking place, he would have stayed and been the perfect complement to young King Felix...but, whatever. We picked up an incredible athlete in Smoak who scouts say is a 5 tool player as the cornerstone of the infield. He'll be just fine. The farm system is in the best shape it's very well likely ever been in and continues to grow. Pineda, Ackley and I know there are others but I'm just not thinking of them.

Anyway, for the record...I like Wedge, now let's season who were signing and drafting. The bar has been raised with PC sitting over @ Qwest. Let's get downtown rocking like it should be! I'm fired up.

And out...enjoy.
