Milton Bradley returns to the Seattle lineup tonight as the designated hitter, in large part because Russell Branyan turned a coffee table over on his toe this morning.
As the sun was rising, Branyan went to close his hotel-room curtains, knocked over the table and cut and bruised his left big toe – and injury that will keep the big lug out of the lineup for at least a couple of games.
Other than Branyan’s absence and Bradley’s presence, it’s the usual lineup for the Mariners against right-hander Joel Pineiro.

- Franklin Gutierrez, CF
- Jose Lopez, 3B
- Milton Bradley, DH

I’m sure he’ll have some back stiffness as well, from bending over and grabbing his sore toe.

What is it with hotel room coffee tables? This happens to me ALL the time. It’s like they are there just waiting for you…
