It was an interesting series for the Rainiers in Las Vegas with plenty of offense. The Rainiers got homers from Greg Halman and Brad Nelson in a 9-7 win on Sunday.

Steve Bray had solid start for AA West Tenn in a win.

Kyle Seager had four hits for A High Desert and has a 10 game hitting .

For Class A Clinton, Nick  Franklin went 2 for 4 in his 18th multi-hit game this season in Clinton’s 6-1 win.

Of Note: Tacoma scored 6 runs in the 1st inning and held off a late charge by Las Vegas for a 9-7 victory Sunday. Guillermo Quiroz hit a 3-run homer. Brad Nelson and Greg Halman also homered. Tommy Everidge currently has an 8-game hit streak, batting .412 (14×34) with 6 runs scored, 6 doubles, 2 home runs and 12 RBI. Brad Nelson drew his team-leading 25th and 26th walk yesterday and went 1×3 with 2 runs scored, 1 home run and 1 RBI. He has reached base safely in 12 straight games, batting .350 (14×40) with 16 walks over that stretch. Matt Mangini has hit safely in

7 of 8 games, batting .392 (11×28) with 8 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 8 RBI. The Rainiers hit 3 home runs yesterday and have now hit 18 in their last 10 games.

Of Note: Steve Bray fired 8.0 innings for the 2nd time in 3 starts and earned the win in the Diamond Jaxx 3-2 victory over Carolina. Bray allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits and won his 1st game since May 13th after back-to-back losses. Bray struck out a season-high 5 batters and walked nobody. Josh Fields earned his 4th save of the season with a scoreless 9th. He gave up a leadoff double, but stranded the tying run at 3rd. Leury Bonilla recorded his 1st home run of the season and has recorded 5 hits in his last 7 at-bats (.714). Dustin Ackley currently has a 4-game hit streak, batting .400 (4×10) with 2 runs scored, 2 doubles and 2 RBI. He has reached base safely 14 times during the 4- game series vs. Carolina.

Of Note: The Mavericks snapped a 3-game losing streak and moved within 4.5 games of Lake Elsinore with a 8-3 win over the Storm on Sunday. Andrew Carraway recorded his 5th consecutive quality start. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. His 3 walks allowed matched his entire total for the season prior to Sunday. Rich Poythress has hit safely in his last 9 consecutive games, batting .421 (16×38) with 14 runs scored, 1 double, 4 home runs and 11 RBI. Kyle Seager currently has a 10-game hit streak, batting .422 (19×45) with 9 runs scored, 1 double and 2 RBI. Of Note: A 3-run homer by Kalian Sams set the tone in the 1st inning and 6.0 scoreless innings from John Housey in his 1st start of the year kept the lead in-tact as Clinton beat Kane County 6-1 on Sunday. James Jones also homered in the game, helping the Kings take their 3rd-straight against the Cougars. Housey scattered 3 hits and 3 walks over 6.0 innings and struck out 4, throwing 86 pitches in his first starting role this season. He was helped by the middle of the defense as the Nick Franklin-Gabriel Noriega-Vinnie Catricala combination turned 3 double plays behind him. Nick Franklin recorded his team-leading 18th multi-hit game and hit safely in 35 of his last 43 games.
