Top prospect Dustin Ackley hadn’t exactly been tearing the cover off the ball this season. His average was under .150 as he adjusted to Double A pitching and life with a wood bat. But perhaps last night is a jumping off point, Ackley ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs in West Tenn’s 8-4 win. It raised his average to .153.

Last night I had the pleasure of covering the Rainiers and got a little bonus baseball as they played 14 innings with Reno. And just about the time I thought I would never leave, Tommy Everidge crushed a walk-off two-run homer. It was easily a 400 shot in the cold night air. It was his first of the season.

Also during in between the 12th and 13th innings, they played this little piece of goodness on the big screen…

Why would they play such nonsense, it goes back to this somewhat outdated internet joke.

Ooh, so now professional writers are attempting to Rick-roll their readers! All I can say is… thank heaven for Flash Block!

  2. snydro81 says:

    Haha.. Professional..

Divish is like your typical AAAA player. LaRue is the guy who doesn’t know when to hang it up and stop mailing it in.

Blow it up and start over..

  3. wabubba67 says:

Snydro’s still alive?? Who knew (or even cared)?

  4. snydro81 says:

    Your mom knows.

  5. I can’t believe you called me “professional.” I’ve been waiting for someone to call me that for so long. I even had an acceptance speech planned, starting with: “I just want to thank all the people I stepped on or stabbed in the back to get here.”

AFter having to suffer through it last night, I’m making someone else has to suffer through it as well.

  6. Snydro,
I’d like to think of myself as more as better than a AAAA player. I think I’m more like an underachieving one-time touted prospect that never has fulfilled his potential, but has also never been given a legitimate shot at every day playing time.

I’m sure its largely due to off the field issues and a bad attitude as well.

  7. wabubba67 says:

    But she doesn’t care, Snydro.
