Manager Don Wakamatsu talked about ‘secret dynamics’ going on in camp, which might mean Jack Zduriencik is looking for a pitcher, but here’s your Seattle Mariners opening day starting rotation:

Felix Hernandez, Ian Snell, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Doug Fister and Jason Vargas.

Yes, in that order. Why that order? For one thing, the Mariners have figured several options for changing things up when Cliff Lee returns. How soon will that be? Lee is throwing today, and if he feels no ‘grab’ in his strained abdominal muscle, the team can move ahead with his rehabilitation.

If he does feel discomfort, the process begins to look much longer.

One cut made this morning – Luke French to Tacoma – and two more will be made before the day is done.

Stay tuned.

Wow. I hope we don’t fall to far behind before Lee and Bedard get back healthy. If these guys can hold the ship together, no one is going to want to play the Mariners down the stretch. Any word on Washburn?

ida – washburn remains available, at a price the mariners haven’t met. if he signed today, he would need two or three weeks, minimum, to be ready to pitch.

so rumors are true about washburn, because so far only players like Smoltz and Pedro are name who can fill that spot but Smoltz got TV job and he hoping that St. Louis would come calling as he like it their from what I heard… Thought give and take if mariners is sign Washburn would he have to go to minors to get ready??? Jarrod Washburn is qouted as saying it not the money that the issue but yet it seem like he not willing to lower his 5million asking price to come back.
