The only member of today’s starting lineup who’s shown up yet is Chone Figgins, who always shows up before anyone else, but bench coach Ty Van Burkleo has it up, anyway.

Against the hated Cincinnati Reds today, here’s your Seattle Mariners batting order – and, by popular demand, there’s now a first baseman!

  • Ichiro, RF
  • Figgins, 2B
  • Jose Lopez, 3B
  • Ken Griffey Jr., DH
  • Eric Byrnes, LF
  • Franklin Gutierrez, CF
  • Ryan Garko, 1B
  • Rob Johnson, C
  • Jack Wilson, SS
  • Luke French, P

    Congratulations! Happy Anniversary!!

  2. I love the new approach the M’s are taking in this game. Nobody at 1B!!

  3. Larry…you need to wake up… there is no one covering 1B…

  4. From yahoo sports,

“…………Because of Lee’s absence, the Mariners are rumored to be working on re-signing Jarrod Washburn(notes) to a one-year deal, according to MLB.com. Lefty Washburn had spent three full seasons in Seattle before getting traded to the Detroit Tigers at the deadline last summer…………….”

moo – the ‘rumor’ is agent scott boras, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. mr. boras wants more than the mariners will offer, but that could change.

  6. Oops. I somehow thought that MLB.com was reliable. I know Yahoo isn’t. My bad!
