Greetings from Tucson. It’s a gorgeous day and we have Felix Hernandez making his first Cactus League start of the season. Manager Don Wakamatsu said Hernandez will throw about three innings or 50 pitches. Though Wakamatsu said, all Hernandez really cares about is hitting. Remember in National League parks, teams don’t use the DH.
Of course, it’s tough to think that Hernandez can match that old at-bat at the old Shea Stadium in New York, when he hit a grand slam off of Johan Santana – still one of the most unbelievable things I’ve ever seen in person.

of course in that game, I later watched him nearly get his ankle destroyed at home plate. Something we don’t want to see today.
