Texas is the front runner for Sheet as Mike maddox is their pitching coach and has work with Sheet and keep in touch during last season.

If that is true then we could take both Bedard and Sheets and if one of them shows up and can pitch a decent amount of the year then we are contenders and if both are able to stay healthy we are probably going to make playoffs. What I'm trying to say is that we can lock up these guys with some risk for less than what it would cost to get Washburn (according to you we can get both of them) and their upside is much higher than Washburn's. We probably saw the best of Wash last year and I would expect a regression from him. In the end my personal preference is Rich Harden.

Here's a thought.. I know many of you may have had this thought... but....

I think that proffessional sports players contracts should all be performance based.. Make everything incentive based. I hate seeing when players get awarded big contracts, then they become injury ridden, or just plain forget how to play the game.

You said to take less than Sheet and Erik are you freakin kidding, Sheet miss the whole season 09 and Erik couldn't play 2 full season in Seattle mariner uniform.

Jarrod Washburn had injury but atleast he pitch unlike Baby Bedard who is injured prone who will not get anything more but minor league contract and sheet will be lucky to get a contract worth up 5mil with incentives to prove that he can actuality be healthy.

I'm not really sure I care what Washout wants. If he wants to come back it should be for much less than Harden, Sheets, or Bedard. Even with their injury risk they are much more valuable than Washburn. Last year was a little luck and a really awesome outfield. He simply can't be that effective away from Safeco and our outfielders. I'll take him for nice discount though. He has never been worth more than roughly 6 or 7 million a year. I wouldn't mind a 2 yr 9 million deal. Anything over 4.5 mill a year and I say let someone else bite.

Long - Luke French struggled after coming to Seattle and in september lost his spot in the rotation. He's not a hard thrower, and the team isn't sure at this point what his future is.

Speaking of who we got in the trade; What happened to Luke French after he got a couple starts, I lost track of what became of him. I followed the Tacoma Rainiers and didn't see him down there in Tacoma.. He seems to have a bright future ahead of him too... But like I've said in previous posts, I really think the M's should look towards players who hit the ball! They seem to have so much depth at pitching that we really don't need anymore of them guys!
