I only like the idea of both Jr. and Sweeney if one isn't taking a roster spot. It would be great if we had one of them as a coach or something along those lines. But to have 2 roster spots taken up by basically the same type of player seems a little absurd. Don't get me wrong I think they are both great examples of what a pro should be, but I'd like to sign some more productive players on the field and at the plate instead of just great clubhouse bench guys. BUt then again what do I know I roast coffee and watch sports in my free time. Jack Z and Wak live baseball all day every day.

Re Griffey & Sweeney, can we afford to carry two aging pinch hitters? If so, have at it!

I;m not sold on Wilson unless he's dirt cheap, & even then the M's have got to get SOME offense out of ss.

We know Wilson can't hit, but he is probably the best defensive shortstop in baseball. My guess is that he is going to take a paycut. There are a lot of people down on Wilson but we haven't even seen him play healthy yet. Also most of the people down on him don't have any other reasonable suggestions for who our SS should be. We missed out of Hardy which was my top pick. But Jack didn't bring Wilson here to play for a few months. This is a no-brainer for the M's if Jack Wilson is willing to take a pay cut.

I'm not sold on Wilson's offense...seems like another NL player that will struggle in the AL...and has a lack of power.

We could use their roster spots for some stronger younger players in 2011.

I didn't finish my last sentence up there.

GO Ms!

I hope they do come back for just one more year. After that, who knows? I think as far as the morale booster they brought to the clubhouse last year, that one more year should be just enough; then this club is on it's own. We could use their roster spots for some stronger younger players.
