Lincecum facing drug charges in Clark County

lincecum

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum is facing drug possession charges in Clark County after being pulled over on I-5 for speeding. He had about 3.3 grams of marijuana and a pipe in his glove box, police said.

The Columbian in Vancouver has the story.

It’s disappointing news, though I certainly don’t think it’s anything he should be castigated for. And you know what, even with this news, I still think the Mariners should have drafted him. I don’t think I’m alone in this thinking.

  1. Dude spends the summer in SFO. I’m sure this is medicinal. Given what I’ve experienced at AT&T, he can get catch a secondary buzz from the mound.

even if he is a pothead we would of loved to have a 1-2 of felix an tim !

    Wait, wait, wait, wait…

Are you telling me that the guy that looks like a little stoner kid is actually a little stoner kid?

    GASP!

I’d take that little stoner kid, buy him a new replacement baggie, and beg him to pitch at Safeco for us.

    Shocking! Just shocking! :-)

Who really cares? The drug should be legalized and taxed. Instead of spending money on useless and meaningless enforcement/incarceration, states could actually make money while short-circuiting the criminal activity surrounding this substance.

I would actually be surprised if Lincecum doesn’t have a medical card permitting him to use the drug…from what I hear, they are extremely easy to obtain in CA.

I can’t smoke pot anymore because of certain health issues that even if used for medicinal purposes would not help. If I could, I would.

That said, what a player does off the field that in no way causes harm to himself or others and has no effect on his playing abilities (i.e. steroids, performance enhancers, cheating!) should not be a considering factor in any decision.

    I agree with Wabubba67.

F-in’ pot head (Lincecum)… Way to go.. Your a true role model.. Hell, your no better than those f-in morons who use steroids.. Glad Im not a fan of yours!

  7. longco44 says:

Either way, I do, myself belive that drug should be legalized.. However, for sports, it should be treated the same way as steroids…

  8. Pray4Peace says:

Pot is in no way a performance enhancing drug. In fact, it’s quite the opposite for most folks. To compare the 2 is absurd, to say the least.

I don’t think players should smoke before a game but what they do after, off the field, to relax, is really none of our business. I’ve never heard of anyone performing a sport better by getting high before a game.
