Nolan Ryan & the Quagmire

Arlington is now sitting in the small window of opportunity, if you believe in the radar of weather, where the rain has stopped before it will begin again.

So, the Rangers whipped that infield tarp off and who should walk to the mound to inspect it? None other than team president Nolan Ryan, who stood atop the hill again.

Ryan is currently walking the infield, which is muddy, slick and puddled in spots. The ground crew is pouring kitty litter every where, shoveling up mud and trying hard to resuscitate a field.

And more rain is coming, probably within the hour. It’s now a race between Mother Nature and the Rangers front office.

We’ll see. But it’s cool seeing Nolan Ryan on a mound again.
