As we were saying last week ….
Brandon Morrow, the Seattle closer who became a Tacoma starter, will rejoin the Mariners and start Friday’s game against the Texas Rangers.
Aftrer much consideration and healthy debate, the Mariners decided Morrow will take the spot of left-hander Luke French, who will join a battered bullpen missing too many arms.
For tonight’s game, for instance, the Mariners won’t have Chris Jakubauskas (shoulder knot), Sean White (shoulder pain), Mark Lowe (pitched two innings Tuesdsay) and Miguel Batista (bad pitching).
So French will move to the bullpen and Morrow, who went 5-3 in 10 starters with the Rainiers – pitching 55 innings, walking 23 and striking out 40 – will start for Seattle the rest of the season.
That’s what was said here last week, and the Mariners waffled a bit when the Rainiers went to the playoffs, thinking Morrow might benefit from that post-season atmosphere.
The team now hopes it benefits more from Morrow’s return.
Not to sound like a broken record, but the M’s are NOT GOING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFF’S. Won’t happen. Done. They also pretty much know what Morrow can do. (I might feel differently if it was Redman, Moore, Tui, etc because UNLIKE Morrow, they all have very little MLB time.). Why not give the R’s a chance to win the AAA World Series (or whatever it’s called)?

because mariners need pitching and morrow deserve a chance to finish his season with Mariners.
I know Redman, Owens, Nelson, Burke who I fan’s of deserve chance to come up majors some like Burke because, he can mentor Rob more than Kenji can mentor an penguine. I think some of them if come back will get that shot in ST to make it on the roster.

Geez, 10 starts and 55 innings. Not very impressive for Morrow. It looks like he is going backwards.
