I have often felt sorry for students standing at bus stops at 0 dark 30, shivering while they try to shrug off a too-early lethargy that even a double espresso couldn’t dispel. I remember my own school days when classes started at 9 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. (some classes did start at 8 a.m., but they were electives).
My parents’ generation had it figured out. They were kind to us. They didn’t need “research-based best practices,” just the evidence of their own eyes, and …
