STALKING: Be careful about false accusations

Re: “New law targets ‘sick’ stalkers” (TNT, 4-28).

It is about time that something got done about stalkers in this state. The Jennifer Paulson Stalking Protection Order Act seems to be a step in the right direction in making people safer.

I know people who have anti-harassment orders against other people, and state Rep. Roger Goodman’s comment that it isn’t worth the paper it is printed on is a fairly accurate assessment. Something needed to be done in order to keep people like Paulson safe. Now we need to find a way to stop Facebook (or other Internet media)

STALKERS: Questions were left unanswered

Re: “New law targets ‘sick’ stalkers” (TNT, 4-28).

I appreciate the article, however I don’t think I am alone in wanting to know more about the specifics of the law. How specifically will it be implemented? What are the “new categories of behavior” that qualify as felony stalking? How are these new categories of behavior to be evaluated? By whom? How quickly?

What does it mean when state Rep. Roger Goodman says, “When creepy, sick people are watching someone for years, as was Jennifer Paulson’s case, law enforcement will take it seriously”?
