Chicago Tribune writer John Kass refers to “the stridently secular big-government West that regards Christianity as a competitor, an obstacle to overcome, if not an outright threat to squash.”
Kass must not know that in Europe, some governments withhold taxes from paychecks that are earmarked for churches. The only way out is to renounce religion, which most people don’t do because it alienates them from their community and results in the loss of privileges, such as burial in church cemeteries.
