BENGHAZI: Where is the mainstream media?

Scandals come and go. Some are here to stay. Benghazi is one of them. Four Americans died in a terrorist attack on our embassy in Libya. The Obama administration has announced it will not cooperate with a congressional investigation. This is outrageous and should insult every American. This administration lied to us to get re-elected.

Where are ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC? The only news outlet covering this is Fox. Even The News Tribune avoids covering this story. There was a three-paragraph minor story buried on the back pages. It was generic and carried no weight or significance. The

BENGHAZI: Emails point to political cover-up

Remember Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012? It was six weeks before a hotly contested presidential election for Barack Obama. Four Americans were killed including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Susan Rice, United Nations ambassador, went on five major news talk shows to assure the American people this attack was a response to an Internet video and not a terrorist act. After all, both Obama and Vice President Joe Biden campaigned with the slogan, “GM is alive and bin Laden is dead.” This was a blatant lie and produced to protect Obama with no reference to his foreign policy failures.

MIDEAST: McCain wrong about abandoning Iraq

So now al-Qaida has taken over a hunk of Iraq – further proof that our meddling in the Middle East is the biggest mistake we ever made.

Despite all the American blood and money that was poured into Iraq and all the American money poured into Halliburton by Cheney/Bush, Iraq is still not a miniature U.S. Go figure. Nor Afghanistan. Nor will Iran ever be.

These people have been the way they are for centuries, a lot longer than we have been the way we are. And we have actually been the “way we are” for only the last 100

TERRORISM: Do we just wait for the nuclear bombs?

Recently President Obama told the American people to forget the war on Muslim terror, and Americans should go on with their lives. Further, the U.S. can handle the occasional killing of Americans by the terrorists as we would our domestic killers.

His position is applauded by liberal pundits like Leonard Pitts Jr. Meanwhile, the terrorists go on killing Americans. Recently it was our ambassador to Libya and his staff followed quickly by the mass killing in Boston, and then, a British soldier was killed on the streets of London.

Egypt and other countries are now controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood,

BENGHAZI: The truth about attack still not told

Now that John Brennan has been confirmed as CIA director by the Senate, it appears we may never learn the entire truth about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, or the apparent cover-up in the aftermath. Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham were going to hold up the confirmation until they received more information. It didn’t happen.

Neither former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta or Brennan provided much information. The Democrats spent their congressional time with Clinton praising her work at the State Department even though she had no knowledge of the lack

GOP: Hypocrites now try to pillory Hillary

Now that Republicans have tarred and feathered Susan Rice for the Benghazi tragedy, which she had nothing to do with, they try to pillory Hillary Clinton on live TV at the Senate hearings. Clearly, they want to wound her so that she will not defeat them so decisively in the 2016 election.

Yet it was Republicans who blocked hundreds of millions of dollars in funding that would have beefed up security at U.S. embassies around the world.

Generation of hypocrites!

MIDDLE EAST: Obama contributed to crisis

When the regional uprising began in the Middle East months ago, moderate Muslim leaders in the region were deposed and the radical Muslim Brotherhood rose to power, with President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s blessings. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood got the blessing of the Obama administration. The same thing happened in Libya.

Now Egypt is helping to arm Hamas, which is terrorizing Israel.

Obama and Clinton knew the Muslim Brotherhood around the region would increase the likelihood of war and terrorism on Israel. Why did they then bless its rise to power? Obama’s cover for blessing the organization was that

LIBYA: Choice of words not the issue

Re: “Republicans have a new tactic” (Letters, 11-6).

The letter writer accused Republicans of childishly focusing on President Obama’s choice of descriptive words regarding the murder of Americans in Libya. He’s mistaken.

The concern is why the president didn’t take actions that would have protected the consulate, as the consulate requested repeatedly long before the seven hour siege. Where was the loyalty and courage expected of elected officials? Is this the protection Americans can expect from the government when vulnerable?
