The Karshner Museum is almost gone. The Puyallup School District will gut the Karshner, one of only about three schools owned in the U.S. for a “cultural” center.
The Karshner has been a great teaching tool for grades K-5 for generations. Gone are the 62 educational kits sent to the classrooms to enhance study, the elephants foot, the old west room, the old classroom, the birds and animals.
The kids loved this place. In 2011/12, more than 400 classes visited the museum. PSD then spent thousands in new exhibit cases, only to scrap them for this new idea. Hundreds attended …
