PIERCE TRANSIT: Make it easier to get to farmers market

Five Pierce Transit bus routes go to North 26th and Proctor. None travel on North 26th from Proctor to Pearl.

It takes nearly an hour for anyone on the No. 10 route to get from Pearl to the Proctor Farmers Market on Saturdays. It would be nice if at least one route could travel from Pearl to Proctor for the farmers market for us old, disabled, retired shoppers.

WINE: Industry can grow locally, too

Re: “Wine industry’s a bright spot for state during tough times” (editorial, 5-7).

While some residents might agree that Washington could focus more resources on building the state’s growing wine industry to generate more revenue and thus bolster the state’s economy, the Tacoma populace can help make an immediate impact at the local level by visiting the Proctor Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
