More than a decade ago, the U.S. surgeon general gave the first report on the “Oral Health in America,” addressing the unmet dental needs and the problem of access to oral health care in the United States. Since then, organized dentistry has made little attempt to provide any real solutions.
Barriers to oral health care are many: economics, location, transportation and culture just being a few. The economic barrier is only a fraction of the problem as reported by the American Dental Association
