GOP: To stop being ‘stupid party’ is an admirable goal

I’m not quite sure what to think of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s recent speech. On one hand, I loved the part that said the Republicans “must stop being the stupid party.” Unfortunately, the rest of the speech indicated that he, too, was in need of some educating.

For example, Jindal’s America:

• Relegates women to the lowest form of human life – following men and the unborn. Denying women the right to make their own medical decisions is the worst form of tyranny.

GOP: Party shouldn’t serve leftovers in 2012

Unless there are significant improvements in a number of areas including the economy, the deficit, our out-of-control illegal immigration problem, travel security and other issues, we Republicans may well be in a position to win the presidency and control both the House and the Senate in 2012.

I think our biggest problem in winning the presidency is that although there are a number people who have expressed an interest in the job, and most of them are likable, well-qualified presidential timber, they represent leftovers: Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, Palin, Giuliani, Thompson and others who made attempts to be on 2008 ticket,
