ELECTION: Sandy Allen would be a fine judge

I agree with The News Tribune’s assessment (editorial, 7-10) that we have three fine candidates for Pierce County District Court judge. I believe, however, that one candidate stands out from the rest.

Sandy Allen already has a great deal of experience on the bench, having served as Municipal Court judge in Ruston for the past 11 years and in Milton for the past eight years. She has also served as judge pro tempore in 15 different courts in three counties over the past 16 years.

Allen has been active in the community, volunteering in various community organizations over the years, including Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and the YMCA (where she has helped educate our citizens about the judicial process through her role as a volunteer judge).

Finally, Allen has the right temperament to serve as judge, treating those who come before her with dignity and respect. She is tough, yet compassionate. She knows the law and administers justice in a fair and balanced manner.

I believe the citizens of Pierce County will benefit in electing Sandy Allen as Pierce County District Court judge, Position 8.
