I-522: Don’t support government expansion

I decided to vote against Initiative 522.

While I am sure the supporters of the initiative have the best of intentions in mind, I am worried about the unintended consequences.

I-522 will mean yet another expansion of government with the hiring of new bureaucrats to administer and enforce the new law. That means more people receiving government pay and benefits at the expense of the private sector.

The private sector produces all of the wealth of a society. Government cannot produce wealth; it can only re-distribute it. With the passage of I-522, we will again be taking wealth out of the private sector so that government can grow and become more powerful and intrusive.

I urge voters to reject I-522. Let’s not expand government.
