SHUTDOWN: Obama needs to stop spending

This shutdown crisis has all the national attention. And it should! Here are the facts: Our national debt is almost $17 trillion and growing at $1 billion a minute with borrowed money. That is outrageous, and everybody in this country should be aware of it.

President Obama is spending our country into economic oblivion. He boldly stated as a freshman senator that raising the debt ceiling was “un-American.” However, as president he has implemented more spending and threatened to default on our national debt simply to make a political point. That’s insane. He is using the American people as a political pawn for his own agenda.

The Republican House has made a stand. And they should. Enough is enough. We cannot continue down the road of massive spending and taxation. At some point we cannot afford it! Government spending can be accomplished with proper management and oversight. As Obama stated, he would go through the budget and “trim” needless waste.

Great rhetoric, but it didn’t happen. Instead our government has ballooned into the lumbering behemoth that cannot pay its way. Now, he is facing a crisis and he will not negotiate on the debt. As usual he campaigns, blames his opponents and fails to lead.

It’s time for Obama, his administration, his political supporters and all the “Obamacrats” – specifically Harry Reid – to sit down and discuss what’s best for America. After all, they work for us. We don’t work for them.
