Re: “Pride when military flies overhead” (letter, 8-21).

The writer said it so simply when she said that she feels “pride and security” when she hears our military personnel fly over her home. I would also add: To those who are intruded upon by the noise, vibrations, and the rumblings of our men and women training to protect you and your families, did you ever stop to think about how their lives are disrupted so that you can whine about not getting enough sleep?

What are they giving up? They are giving up life with their families, their security, possibly even their freedom or their life. Instead of complaining and sitting on your comfortable behinds, why don’t you stand up, salute the flag when it passes by during a parade or say a prayer of thanks that we have them to protect us and our freedom.

Why do you choose to live in an area that is so noisy? God bless America!
