ELECTION: Schlicher is a balanced, caring leader

Having lived and worked in this community for 19 years helping people achieve the American dream through safe, affordable housing, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know many of our local leaders.

One leader who has really stood out to me in both character and values is Dr. Nathan Schlicher, our current senator in the 26th Legislative District. He is a kind, thoughtful and balanced leader who has dedicated his life to helping people in that intensely catastrophic time – when they land in the emergency room.

I have watched Schlicher in action and admire his reasonable, moderate deliberation on the trying issues of our time, including his strong record of ensuring that women and families have access to health care in order to keep their families strong.

He is a capable leader who proudly reaches across the aisle to compromise in order to get things done. His love for his wife and three children is clearly evident, as is his pride in building a strong economy for our state and protecting the vulnerable. I cannot think of a better person to lead our community and represent the values of Gig Harbor in Olympia.
