GUNS: Obama deceitful on Stand Your Ground laws

I feel compelled to write after reading President Obama’s latest misrepresentation of the “Stand Your Ground” laws.

Our president is a lawyer who knows how to manipulate and obfuscate facts to push a particular agenda. He asks Americans to repeal Stand Your Ground laws and to consider the “what if” scenario of the “shoe on the other foot.” But he leaves out the critical part where Trayvon Martin was on top of George Zimmerman, physically beating the crap out of him.

Blunt head trauma kills many people, so chances are most of us would have been in fear for our lives during that fight.

Instead, Obama implies the Stand Your Ground law would have allowed Martin to be justified in shooting Zimmerman simply because he was being followed by Zimmerman (in his vehicle, no less) and felt threatened. Is this a fair comparison to being in a life-or-death struggle on the ground with your head being bashed into the cement?

Hard to believe what our president will say to mislead the masses and press his agenda. I guess I’m just surprised he didn’t make this speech with various victims of gun violence surrounding him at the podium.
