METRO PARKS: Is funding being misused?

Today I took the kids to the conservatory in Wright Park. The price of admission: $3 apiece.

Are you kidding me? The person at the chained doorway explained they need the money.

I see this huge new water park in Wright Park. At what cost? Why not fence the water park areas and charge a small admission there?

What I see is a gross mismanagement of funds, with building additions that cannot be supported.

I have put up with the mess at Jefferson Park; those who live near Wright Park will see the same in the future: more rats, nowhere to park, alcohol and drug use in parked cars, and no police.

We will not vote for any park bonds in the future. It is clear that someone is not doing their job, or has bungled funds beyond the point of ridiculousness. Charging for the conservatory isn’t going to fix funding problems.
