FIREWORKS: Worst noise is all the whining

You know what’s more irritating and obnoxious that the sound of fireworks? It’s the annual complaining, caterwauling and whining that we hear every year at this time.

Everybody in unincorporated Pierce County knows that other people are going to light off fireworks. But every year the same irritable individuals loudly object to other people having fun.

For crying out loud; buy some earplugs, turn up the TV or go on vacation to Canada, just please get off our backs. People are loud, that’s just who we are. If you can’t let people be people for a couple of few days out of the year, then you are the problem.

In a recent letter (TNT, 7-3) the author complained about the lawlessness of fireworks and referred to the Pierce County Council as “limp-spined” for presumably not shooting to kill firework offenders. I wonder if he calls everyone who doesn’t do his bidding a derogatory name?

While speaking of breaking the law, have you ever driven in a 60 mph speed zone and actually did 60 mph? If you do you will notice a steady stream of automobiles passing you. This goes on every hour of every day everywhere. Why doesn’t somebody do something about this, or are “they” just lily-livered yellow bellies?
