Some things simply make no sense. For example, at the corner of Tacoma Avenue and Division in the Stadium District, someone painted pastel colors over the existing crosswalks on all four sides. It was unique and not graffiti or filth but simply colored lines and circles where faded-out white lines once were.
Today, a team of workers, I’m assuming city employees, spent the better part of the day erasing all the lines, including the original ones.
Here’s the part I don’t understand: Division from Tacoma Avenue to Stadium Way is almost undrivable as the potholes have gotten so bad. When asked to have them at least filled temporarily, we’re told there are no funds available for it.
Who paid for six to eight hours of removing colored paint? Priorities? I would like an explanation. If my taxes can go toward removing paint, then why can’t these same workers remove the enormous amount of graffiti that is destroying walls, sidewalks and buildings all over this same area of Stadium District?
