Re: “Sometimes she’s the constant in children’s lives” (TNT, 4-24).

Maybe it is because I too am a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer in Pierce County out of Juvenile Court, like Cindy Scott in your excellent article on volunteerism, but I do not believe I have ever read as strong an article on why volunteer.

C.R. Roberts nailed the eloquence and the strength in the powerful voice of the “volunteer spirit” in Scott and allowed her passion along with the pathway her “community” company has set as a guideline for others here in the Pacific Northwest to be recognized as a possible gold standard.

The last paragraph of the article should be printed and reprinted and should ring in our our ears as a constant reminder of our common duty to the “unheard voices of children” in our beloved community.
